Adobe Creative Suite 2 All in One One book...all the answers By David James Rockingham III

When Adobe released their Creative Suite 2 applications, there were a number of new features that new and experienced users would have to learn. Luckily, author Mordy Golding and Sams Publishing released their Adobe Creative Suite 2 All in One book. Even with that said, there?s still tons of useful information that will help you familiarize yourself with Adobe?s Creative Suite 2. Let?s take a look at the contents.

Chapters one through four begins with an overview of the applications that make up the Creative Suite 2. Find out which ones to choose to accomplish your projects and the differences between the premium and standard editions. Chapter two provides a more detailed look into each individual application and how they are integrated to work in relation to each other. Chapter three teaches you how to create a workflow that will be productive for you. Learn the differences between creating for the web and print, utilizing Adobe Acrobat?s PDF format capabilities. Chapter four will cover the tight integration among the programs in Creative Suite 2. 

 


Chapters five through eight begins with the usage of Adobe Photoshop CS2. Being that this is the standard tool in the industry, you would probably want to pay close attention to this chapter. While the book has covered the more popular design programs such as Photoshop and Illustrator, there?s also Adobe GoLive that you can learn to use to design a website. Mastering Acrobat is also very important when making certain information available online. Acrobat?s PDF format helps keep your file?s design and makes the file portable to any system without loss in data. Chapter twelve covers technique used to design a corporate identity. This includes the creation of a logo, designing a business card and other office materials.

Chapters thirteen through seventeen covers more project related topics for web and print  such as creating a brochure, creating an ad campaign, making web banners and a web page and creating a business presentation.

This is a very comprehensive book so if you?re searching for a book that can help you learn these programs, then this book will serve as a valuable asset. If you want to learn a specific program, then you would probably be better off purchasing a specific book on the application. Author Golding does a terrific job pointing out some very useful tips throughout the book. He keeps the book focused on the basic elements of each program, which should help the user learn the programs quickly and easily. Throughout the book I found a number of techniques that I had never considered in my daily work.

Since the book was targeting beginning and intermediate users, the wording used is easy to understand and very straightforward. Even if you?ve never used any of these programs before, this book will point you in the right direction and you will be able to create some fantastic designs relatively quick. If you?re going to take the plunge and spend the money for the Adobe Creative Suite 2, then you might as well learn how to use it. Pick up Adobe Creative Suite 2 by Mordy Golding and Sams Publishing and you will be on your way towards learning the applications that the pros use.
